Men in employment by economic sector in Tanzania 2009-2019

Agriculture absorbed roughly 63.6 percent of the employed men in Tanzania in 2019, a little less than in the previous year. The sector remained the primary source of employment for Tanzanian men, although a gradual shift towards other economic sectors has emerged in the last decade. In 2019, 26.8 percent of the male workers were engaged in the services, against 24.4 percent in 2009. The same trend was noticed among women, but at a faster pace.
