According to a 2021 study, Europe's hydrogen demand is forecast to account for roughly 14 percent of the world's demand in 2030 and 2050. Despite remaining at the same global share, Europe's hydrogen market is projected to increase near fivefold in these two decades, from 20 to 95 million metric tons per year. Worldwide, hydrogen demand is forecast to amount to 145 million metric tons in 2030 and 660 million metric tons in 2050.
