According to a survey conducted in March 2020 in England and Wales, over half of all children said that their parents or guardians never logged into their online social media accounts. Overall, 8.6 percent of kids said that their parents logged into their social media accounts a lot, as a means of involvement in their internet usage. A third of respondents stated that their parents sometimes encouraged them to explore and learn things on the internet, whilst 19.9 percent said that their internet usage was monitored a lot.
