From 2019 to 2020 the differences in preterm birth rates among various races in United States remained relatively unchanged.
The highest percentage of preterm births occurred among black mothers, with 12.18 percent of all births among this group delivered preterm in 2020. The lowest rates of preterm births were found among white and Asian mothers.

Singleton births are "births in pregnancies for which only one fetus is delivered, live or dead, at any time during the pregnancy."
