Voting in elections was, by far, the most common form of political engagement among the Spanish youth in 2019, as about 70 percent of those surveyed who could vote did so. Among the youngest generation, taking part in a strike was the most popular act of political activism, with 30 percent of people aged 15 to 19 years old having done so in the 12 months prior to the survey. On the other hand, only a small share of young Spaniards got involved in political parties or in unauthorized demonstrations. Overall, young people engaged in political activities more often than older generations.
