The European Union (EU-27) exported more than 240 billion euros worth of chemicals in 2022. Specialty chemicals was the segment with the highest export value that year, at around 71 billion euros. Meanwhile, the largest contributor to the EU's chemical imports was petrochemicals, at over 97 billion euros.
