Most of the land in South Africa was used for agricultural activities in 2019, almost 80 percent of the country's total land area. It is worth pointing out that the agricultural land was mainly categorized as "land under permanent meadows and pastures". Since 2012, the agricultural area in South Africa stayed stable, following an overall drop from 2000.
