In the fiscal year of 2018, it was most common for U.S. citizens and documented non-citizens to be sentenced in U.S. district courts for trafficking methamphetamine. Undocumented non-U.S. citizens were most often sentenced for trafficking cocaine powder, followed by methamphetamine and marijuana. After methamphetamine, U.S. citizens were most frequently sentenced for trafficking heroin and cocaine powder, respectfully.

Marijuana includes marijuana, marijuana plant, hashish, and hashish oil.
Methamphetamine includes methamphetamine, methamphetamine mixture, and methamphetamine precursors.
*Other includes any drug other than cocaine powder, crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamine identified in the U.S. Sentencing Commission guidelines.
