E-commerce software market share in Mexico 2025

As of January 2025, Shopify was the leading e-commerce platform in Mexico at 29 percent. Following close behind was WooCommerce Checkout and Wix Stores, as 18 percent of e-commerce websites in Mexico used their software technologies. The mentioned companies compete in a market worth roughly 50 million U.S. dollars as of 2023.

Shopify vs. WooCommerce

Shopify and WooCommerce are both big players in the market of website hosting services, although Shopify holds a bigger market share among the most visited websites worldwide. Although headquartered in Canada, Shopify has its biggest market in the United States, with over one million websites hosted in the country as of July 2023.

The pandemic surge in e-commerce sales coincided with a spike in e-commerce software expenditure.
