U.S. exports of medicinal and pharmaceutical products to Russia, which were the main export commodity to that destination in February 2022, fell from over 61 million U.S. dollars in that month to 5.6 million U.S. dollars in June 2023. Furthermore, the value of motor vehicles exported from the U.S. to Russia in June 2023 declined to almost zero U.S. dollars. The U.S. trade sanctions imposed on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine were the reason behind the decline.
