By the end of January, the Chinese vaccine firm Sinovac had produced almost 2.5 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses, representing around half of all COVID-19 vaccine doses manufactured nationwide. Although most of Sinovac's CoronaVac vaccines are intended for the domestic market, a large number of doses were also exported, mainly to lower and middle-income countries. Thanks to the strong demand for its COVID-19 vaccines worldwide, Sinovac reported strong financial performance in 2021, with its annual revenue increased almost 3,700 percent from the previous year.
