In 2022, 276 Russians were convicted of a public appeal to extremism under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of Russia. Further 274 people were found guilty of justifying terrorism in public. Overall, the number of extremist-related criminal convictions in Russia increased from 729 in 2021 to 906 in 2022.

Article 282, Sections 1-2 - Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as the abasement of human dignity;
Article 282.2, Section 1 - Organization of an extremist community;
Article 282.2, Section 1.1 - Inducement, recruitment or other involvement in an extremist community;
Article 282.2, Section 2 - Participation in an extremist community;
Article 354.1, Sections 1-3 - Rehabilitation of Nazism.
