Natural gas from Hungary accounted for 85 percent of Ukraine's total import volume of that fossil fuel in 2021. Slovakia was the second leading import origin, with a share of 12 percent. To compare, in the previous year, Ukraine was mostly dependent on natural gas imports from Slovakia, which represented over 60 percent of total imports in that year.
