Most of timber plantation rights (HPHT) holders are on Kalimantan Island. In Indonesia, there is a distinction made between timber concessions whose primary purpose is to harvest natural forests and those whose goal is to establish timber and pulp plantations. HPHT holders are focusing on establishing timber plantations.
