In May 2022, Volkswagen was the best-selling car brand throughout the European Union. Just under 102,400 of the new registrations across member states were Volkswagen passenger vehicles. The German brand was followed by the Japanese Toyota and French Peugeot, at respectively 65,000 and 55,600 sales.
