A survey conducted in December 2021 in New Zealand about the leading concerns revealed that more than two thirds of respondents were concerned about the cost of living, amounting to 68 percent. Furthermore, with a respondent's share of 67 percent the concern related to the protection of the children of New Zealand followed. The survey did a comparison to the previous year in which the above mentioned concerns indicated no change in rank. However, the concern regarding the build-up of plastic in environment grew among the respondents as compared to the previous year by 8 percent, valuing to 66 percent.
