According to a survey conducted in April 2022 in Japan, the most common measures to reduce plastic waste related to plastic bags that are typically received at the cashier of supermarkets and convenience stores. More than 61 percent of respondents stated that they have adopted the habit of carrying reusable bags, also known as "eco bags", which are generally made of fabrics such as cotton, jute, canvas, or nylon.
