The electricity capacity added to interconnection queues in the United States has been on a continual growth trend for most of the past decade. In 2022, more than 758 gigawatts of capacity were added to queues in the North American country, bringing the cumulative capacity in queues in the U.S. to more than two terawatts.

According to the source, interconnection queue data through the end of 2022 was compiled for seven independent system operators (ISOs) and 35 utilities, serving about 85 percent of all U.S. electricity load.
Only includes "active" projects in interconnection queues. Excludes projects listed as "online", "withdrawn", or "suspended".
Battery storage and all hybrid categories data is from 2018 through 2022. ERCOT queue data includes only projects that have requested a full interconnection study (FIS).
