A survey conducted in February 2022 showed that 22 percent of the African respondents considered employment opportunities as the main challenge faced by women on the continent. The second-leading issue was gender-based violence, as reported by 19 percent of the respondents. Other main challenges for Africa's female population were access to education, child marriage, and gender equality.
