Light commercial vehicles are also projected to grow upward by millions, up from 24,000 in 2021 to 3.8 millions in 2030. Due to infrastructure challenges, the truck and bus segments are expected to record a slower growth.

Data includes battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and is based on a scenario where zero-emissions vehicles (including BEVs, PHEVs, and fuel-cell electric vehicles) account for 50 percent of the vehicle sales in the U.S. in 2030.
