In 2022, the number of undernourished people in Africa was projected at approximately 282 million. The levels of food insecurity and hunger on the continent generally increased in the period under review. A significant increment was registered in 2020, when the population suffering from undernourishment in Africa grew by almost 30 million compared to the preceding year.
