The most common cause of absence from work in the Capital Region of Denmark between 2013 and 2021 was workers' own sickness. On average, this caused over nine days absence each year. Moreover, the average number of absence days due to parental leave increased slightly over these years. In 2021, the employees' own sickness caused 9.04 absence days per full-time employees in the city, whereas 4.52 days were due to parental leave.
