"Drawing on data sources from leading academic and research institutions including the ILO, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the World Bank, World Economic Forum (WEF), Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), PwC and McKinsey & Company, the updated MIWE ranks and scores each economy according to its performance over the past year, particularly since the onset of the coronavirus crisis. Aggregating these scores, the index provides an overall assessment of how women are faring in the business, financial, education, and workplace settings compared to their male counterparts at the national level as well as their peers on a global level."
