Social media accounts from family, friends, and acquaintances were the most followed by internet users aged 16-64 years in Kenya, according to a survey conducted in the third quarter of 2023. Roughly 40 percent of respondents cited the mentioned type of account. A share of 36 percent reported following entertainment and meme accounts on social media, while over 33 percent of users also followed TV shows or channels.
