Ortega is the founder of Inditex fashion group, known mainly for its Zara and Bershka retail chains. As of 2023, he had a fortune worth nearly 103 billion U.S. dollars. His daughter, Sandra Ortega Mera, is the second richest person in the country, with a fortune of over nine billion U.S. dollars.
