Operating expenses per capita in Copenhagen 2011-2021

The net operating expenses per capita of the Copenhagen municipality increased significantly in 2020 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and stayed at that level throughout 2021. Rising unemployment meant that the public authorities had to support people in financial trouble. In 2021, the operating expenses of Copenhagen municipality was almost 61,000 Danish kroner per capita. After having increased from 2011 to 2012, the operating expenses per capita in Copenhagen decreased gradually before 2019.
