Many families in Italy resort to professional help for performing certain tasks at home. According to a survey carried out among a sample of these families, the majority of domestic workers employed were foreigners. In particular, in 2021, approximately 85 percent of the respondents employed foreign senior caregivers, the majority of whom would live in with the family. For families employing babysitters, however, this distribution was rather even.
