As of December 2021, surveyed Filipino adults identified expenses for medicines as the most burdensome hospital expenses. This was followed closely by doctor's fees. Through the Universal Health Care Bill, the government has automatically enrolled all Filipinos to a national health insurance, however, coverage remains limited to certain illnesses and expenses.
