The first round of the French presidential elections was held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, and more than one out of four French people did not vote. This proportion varied slightly with the size of the urban area. The abstention rate was 24 percent in cities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, while it was almost 30 percent in cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants.
