In 2021, an estimated 100 percent of market players in Russia used the equity share + option, where ordinary shares make the holder a fractional owner and options allow to increase such ownership by being converted into shares at some point in the future. Close to 70 percent chose golden shares, and only 33 percent preferred a direct purchase of shares.
