According to a March 2022 survey conducted in the United States, male internet users reported to have seen, read, or heard substantially more about the metaverse than their female counterparts. Overall, 17 percent of men said they had heard a lot about the metaverse, whilst only five percent of women said the same. Additionally, 28 percent of men said they had heard nothing at all about the virtual reality environment, in comparison to 50 percent of women.
