A survey conducted in the United States in March 2022 found that 12 percent of online adults were very interested in purchasing apparel for a metaverse avatar. Overall, Black adults were most enthusiastic about the idea, with 22 percent reporting to be very interested in purchasing apparel for an avatar, whilst 20 percent of Hispanic respondents said they were very interested. Additionally, 56 percent of white respondents and 42 percent of respondents of other races or ethnicities stated that they were not at all interested in this metaverse activity.
