A survey conducted in the United States in March 2022 found that 20 percent of Black adults were very interested in virtually attending a live sporting event in the metaverse, and 22 percent were somewhat interested. Of respondents of Hispanic ethnicity, 21 percent stated that they were very interested in this kind of online event and 26 percent reported being somewhat interested. Additionally, 50 percent of white adults said they were not at all interested in virtually attending an online sporting event.
