According to a survey that took place in Mexico in 2021, around 63 percent of patients that presented symptoms of mental health conditions stated they implemented relaxation or distraction techniques as a measure to improve their mental health. Similarly, over half of those interviewed declared they tend to talk to or spend more time with friends and relatives, whereas 16 percent consult a physician when presented with those circumstances. The main reason why respondents do not consult doctors is because they do not consider their symptoms serious.
