Opinion on Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 taking place during the coronavirus pandemic

According to a survey conducted across 28 countries in December 2021 and January 2022, just over half believed that the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games should go ahead as planned, even if the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was not over. The vast majority of respondents in China agreed, with only 20 percent disagreeing.

The survey results for these countries should be viewed as reflecting the views of the more “connected” segment of their population.
