When comparing by subscription status the share of consumers in the United States who purchased from a mass merchant in 2022, it can be seen that Amazon and Walmart are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Just over 60 percent of the consumers who made a purchase at Amazon in the last month were subscribers, whereas nearly 60 percent of the consumers who made a purchase at Walmart were not.
