According to a McKinsey survey conducted in China in November 2022, approximately 59 percent of respondents favored non-branded holiday accommodation, such as boutique hotels, B&Bs, or vacation rentals, over branded hotel chains. Among those who preferred branded hotels, equal number of respondents chose international chain and local chain hotel brands.
