As of the third quarter of 2021, the wholesale and retail trade industry contributed 17.4 percent of Angola's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The share increased compared to 2020, when it stood at 15.4 percent. After the oil and gas industry, trade had the second-largest contribution to the country's economy.
