Canada's share of electricity produced from renewable sources amounted to some 66 percent in 2023. Hydroelectricity was the most widely used source for electricity generation in the country. Wind energy followed at roughly six percent that year.

Solar includes both solar thermal and solar photovoltaic generation. Bioenergy includes generation from combustible renewables and may include waste generation (renewable and non-renewable). Other renewables includes geothermal, tidal and wave generation.
