As of August 2021, only 44 percent of mobile gamers in the United States were likely to spend less money on mobile gaming apps if they observed stereotypical or clichéd representations on ads for the feature titles. Female and nonbinary gamers had a similar low level of rejection to this type of advertising. The matter was more important for LGBTQ+ gamers, who would more easily driven away from online games with stereotypical advertising.
