As of August 2021, mobile gamers in Brazil were overall likely to spend less money on mobile gaming apps if they saw stereotypical or clichéd representations in ads for the respective titles. People who identified as LGBTQ+ were most likely to be driven away from online games with stereotyped advertising, followed by people from diverse backgrounds. Female or and nonbinary gamers had a similar level of rejection to this type of advertising.
