The reservoir Thorisvatn (written Þórisvatn in Icelandic) is the largest lake in Iceland with a size of 86 square kilometers. Before it was turned into a reservoir, Thingvallavatn (or Þingvallavatn), which is now the second largest, was the country's largest lake.
