Hong Kong's Main Board at the Hong Kong Exchange was led by mainland Chinese tech companies. The top two enterprises based on market capitalization were Tencent and Alibaba, with a market value of 2.6 billion Hong Kong dollars and 1.4 billion Hong Kong dollars, respectively. Many companies from mainland China decide to list on the stock exchange in Hong Kong because it gives them access to global capital while maintaining proximity to the PRC.
