A snapshot of the job market in the United Kingdom on February 21, 2022 showed that the vast majority of journalism job postings that day were based in London, with 384 jobs listed. Of the 548 live job ads that day, just two were based in Northern Ireland, and only one was listed in North East England. Whilst the numbers fluctuate according to company needs and myriad other reasons, the snapshot taken provides an overall picture of the situation for UK jobseekers looking for work in journalism. There were only six jobs advertised across all of Wales, and just five in the East Midlands and North East England combined, whereas London and the South East and South West of England were the places to be for those wanting to secure jobs in the field.
