Number of registered crimes Belgium 2022, by type

In 2022, the most common type of crime registered in Belgium was theft and extortion, of which there were around 262,000 cases registered by the federal police. Furthermore, crimes aginst physical integrity were very common, as around 83,500 crimes were reported. Property damage and fraud crimes were also among the most prevalent, each registering over 70,000 cases.
