As of July 2023, the number of regular workers amounted to around 16.3 million, up from about 15.8 million in the same month a year earlier. While the number of regular workers has increased following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, non-regular daily workers were more affected by the pandemic and experienced a decline in employment.
