According to a survey conducted in Egypt after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2021, the majority of respondents associated the second half of Ramadan with a time for spiritual reflection. The share was higher among respondents from Generation X and Boomers (57 percent). Moreover, 53 percent of Egyptians from Generation X linked the Muslim holy month with the act of giving back to the community, a higher share compared to other generations. Lastly, the share of respondents among Baby boomers connecting the second half of Ramadan with online shopping was the lowest, some 20 percent.
