In both urban and rural areas of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, the founding leader of the left political organization Colombia Humana, enjoyed the largest voting intention for the next presidential elections, according to a survey carried out in April 2022. Other candidates, such as Gutiérrez and Hernández, had a higher voting intention share on rural areas than in urban ones. Meanwhile, Petro also led the polls when it came down to gender, having 40 percent of voting intention among women and 47 among men.
