When questioned in September 2021, young people expressed a greater willingness than their elders to adopt unconventional modes of political protest. 56 percent said they would be willing to protest to defend their ideas, compared to 47 percent of their parents and 41 percent of Baby Boomers who said the same. They were also more willing to share a hashtag, compared to just over a quarter of Boomers.
