The demand for psychiatric healthcare services in China increased significantly in the past decade. In 2021, despite the impact of COVID-19, psychiatric hospitals in China still treated over 3.2 million inpatients, doubling the figures from 2015. The number of beds in Chinese psychiatric wards also rose sharply during the same period, addressing the needs of the general public.
